Module 13

Current density

Current density is the amount of current passing onto metal over a measured area.

It is sometimes refered to in amps per square meter.

The only way to measure this is with an Alexander Cell.

This has measured areas of metal interfaced with the electrolyte

The current is measured using a micro-ammeter.

The resulting corrosion can be seen and the corrosion products tested.

This can be demonstrated on the bench.

this can be demonstrated and tested in field work.
