Cathodic Protection Training Course

Now we must address the problem of the section of the large plastic container filled with sand. The small container is part buried in the sand so we cannot see if this is one, two or three containers.

We cannot see if they are connected, or if two of them connected and the other seperate. If that is the case we cannot see which two are connected.

We cannot see any water in any of them.

This is similar to our experience with coating faults on a pipeline. We know they are there but we do not know if they are active unless we dig them up and inspect the pipe.

We must use instruments to measure something that will tell us where they are and what state of corrosion they are in.
