Member of Parliament

Cathodic Protection Network technology has been drawn to the attention of Members of the UK Parliament since the mid 1980's following the publication of scientific papers in the international journals published by John Tiratsoo of Scientific Surveys and circulated world wide.

Involvement with politics is necessary as pipelines carry products of national importance across local, national and international barriers. They are national assets even though they are owned and operated privately in many countries.

A major pipeline leak has impact at a political level and regulations governing pipelines are often made or ratified in national law.

Decisions relating to the science of cathodic protection are made using the research and advice of scientists facilitated by government funds. Committees are appointed by governments to investigate pipeline matters.

Since the 1980's I have tried several times to gain attention to cathodic protection technology through writing to members of parliament and the prime ministers office. I have always received a response and this correspondence can now serve many purposes.

It gives a reference date to those who were in a position to recognise the error in the technology of that age so that they might be invited to review their own position now and re-examine the subject by witnessing the demonstration from which the are unable to turn back. This can help them to understand that advances in science have left their previous advice obsolete but not entirely redundant.

The political element will help the IP Lawyers and legal experts to construct claims for litigation based on the 'intent of the lawmakers' (Lord Dennings legal ruling) and to scrutinise that actual regulations and statutes together with the published public safety policies of pipeline operating companies.

The public can be informed about the danger of poor pipeline corrosion control through letters to MPs as I have been told that many pipeline operating companies have a policy of doing the minimum required by law with respect to cathodic protection.

I will be posting pictures of relevant documents and the following links will become active over the next few days.
